This concise but extremely efficient English Grammar Course is targeted at B1(+) level students interested in polishing and perfecting their Grammar skills or B2-level students having the need to refresh their English Grammar knowledge after a period of non-use.

  • What do I learn in this course?

If you attend all the classes in person, and carefully complete all the exercises assigned, you will learn the following:

1. You will learn to use all the tenses in a variety of contexts and situations (both in the Active and Passive Voices) correctly and confidently.

2. You will considerably reduce the number of mistakes in your spoken and written English by learning the most commonly used collocations with prepositions.

3. You will sound more formal by polishing your knowledge about gerunds and infinitives and mastering -ing and -ed clauses. Thus, instead of writing (or saying) According to research, which was conducted by Japanese scientists… , you will be able to write (or say) According to research conducted by Japanese scientists,… or Because some people have a low income, they are forced to take loans.=> Being on a low income, some people…

4. You will also make your English more varied by learning to use time and conditional clauses (e.g. clauses with ‘unless’ or ‘if’, conditionals 1,2,3, mixed conditionals, etc.).

Note that there are a number of important topics which will NOT be included in this grammar course due to its conciseness, namely Modal Verbs, Adverbs, Adjectives, and some others. If you are interested in these topics, I will recommend effective grammar books to use for self-study.

- What will I be doing in each class?

1. You will be gaining an understanding of the new rules, mostly through examples, in a dialogue with your teacher and groupmates.

2. Doing practical exercises, carefully selected for each topic, with a clear progression from the easiest to the most challenging and confusing ones.

3. Activating the grammar rules in your spoken and written English by doing grammar-targeted pair work exercises.
