
Conten: In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of supply chains from a financial perspective, understand the basics of management control and how to use these for SCM, as well as get a basic understanding of making outsourcing decisions. You will always apply your newly acquired knowledge in real-life case studies. The following topics will be covered:
- Financial perspective on logistics and supply chains
- Basics of management control & controlling the value chain
- Outsourcing decisions: opportunities & risks
- Management accounting tools to support outsourcing decisions
- Sustainability in SCM controlling & outsourcing decisions
Exam / grading: solving case studies, present "hot topics" of SCM controlling and written exam at the end of the semester.
Credits: part of study focus (VT) Logistics & Supply Chain Management
Dates: course takes place on Thursdays, in general, every other week (first class, 08.10.), sometimes 9.45 to 11.15, but mostly 9.45 to 13.15.
