in Business: Experiences from the Corporate World (2 SWS
/ 2 ECTS)
In this lecture, a seasoned manager shares his experiences from his various senior positions in international companies. Based on real live cases, the following topic areas will be explored and discussed:
- The organizational dimension and the role of strategy
- Shareholders versus stakeholders
- Challenges of change and the critical role of corporate culture
- Individual careers: from getting hired to achieving success
- The need for innovation and entrepreneurship and how venture capital works
The intention of this lecture is not to give definitive answers, but to provide a platform that enables students to better understand the complexities of the corporate world and develop a deeper understanding of what is really going on in organizations. Basic concepts will be introduced and discussed.
