Lean Management started to be popular in the 1980´s in Europe. The tools and methods are broadly established in the automotive industry and started to be spread to other industry sectors.
Nevertheless the topic is more relevant than ever because some industry sectors and especially small and medium sized enterprises stand at the turning point of implementing a sustainable Lean Management concept. Moreover the concept will be transferred to other branches and areas; therefore it is necessary to adapt the methods depending on the utilization aspects. Especially against the background of increasing cost pressure and growing quality awareness the Know-how in this area is an international sought-after skill for university graduates.
Previous knowledge in logistics is helpful but not necessary.
Lean Management methods will be explained and discussed by working on a case study.
